Responsibilities

• Meet with representatives of University departments to review drawings, cost estimates, plan modifications, and construction progress.
• Perform drafting of engineering drawings relating to building mechanical and/or electrical systems from sketches and oral instructions.
• Measure existing facility and perform field observation of existing conditions to verify proposed designs consider existing field conditions.
• Aid in writing design specifications, preparing project cost estimates, and reviewing project bids to evaluate adherence to project specifications.
• Aid in the layout of complex mechanical and electrical systems.
• Aid in the review of contractor shop drawings and submittals.
• Obtain measurement and test data, perform preliminary engineering calculations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
• An Engineering Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited university is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, which will allow legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
• Preferred qualifications include an Engineering Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited university.

Skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations.

Pay

Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000 annually

Schedule

Shift: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday
