Main Duties

  • Works effectively as part of the Engineering department to maximize guest engagement, achieve operational excellence, and uphold brand standards.
  • Maintain the building, grounds, and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security, and asset protection.
  • Respond and attend to guest and in-house requests for repair, maintenance, and preventative maintenance.
  • Resolve general plumbing issues such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, and repairing leaky spigots, plumbing lines, pumps, and faucets.
  • Perform general HVAC trouble-shooting and repairs.
  • Perform miscellaneous repairs such as maintenance on equipment, dry wall repair, vinyl wall covering installation/replacement throughout hotel area.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment (electrical, mechanical, vacuums, televisions), including cleaning, troubleshooting, and lubrication.
  • Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain daily logs of operation and maintenance.
  • Communicate with leaders/team members when necessary to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records as required and ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards and procedures are followed; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Perform carpentry work as directed/needed.
  • Perform swimming pool maintenance and fitness equipment repairs.
  • Use computer programs/handheld devices for communication purposes.

About You

  • A high school degree or GED;
  • Experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area;
  • Detailed knowledge of Engineering operations;
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills;
  • Prominent achievements in optimizing guest and team member engagement;
  • Experience successfully leading in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing demands;
  • Strong interpersonal, team member relations, and leadership abilities;
  • Tech-savvy and familiar with Engineering operating/programs;
  • Ability to identify and solve problems;
  • Professional & appropriate business appearance and demeanor aligned with the 1 Hotel brand and culture;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Flexibility to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation;
  • Passionate about hospitality, Repairs/Maintenance, HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical with a minimum of 2 years of similar work experience.
