Engineer I
About the role
Prioritizes and executes engineering/technical tasks under close supervision.
Responsibilities
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves problems effectively through planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
- Produces thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Engages in continuous improvement of job-related, engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
- Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, to support the company's goals and represent it positively and professionally.
- Maintains accurate records and files to support the company's operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an EAC/ABET accredited Engineering Program OR an approved evaluation of non-ABET credentials by NCEES OR graduation from a Master’s or Doctoral Program in Engineering from an institution with EAC/ABET accredited Undergraduate Engineering Programs.
- Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
- Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations.
- Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of basic electricity and power quality.
- Knowledge of Distribution construction standards and methods.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Able to work collaboratively with others and lead teams.
- Customer-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Desired Qualifications
- Received a passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam.
- Experience in the utility industry.
