Engineer I

About the role

This hybrid position supports Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions. Reporting to the Manager, Reactor Vessel Internals Load Development & Analysis, the Mechanical Engineer will provide technical support for reactor vessel internals design and analysis. The role requires a minimum of 2 days per week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA. Relocation is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for reactor vessel internals design and analysis activities.
• Perform analytical calculations (structural dynamic and/or thermal hydraulic) and evaluations using engineering tools and methods.
• Develop documentation for calculations and analyses.
• Create design documentation for safety and non-safety hardware, including manufacturing drawings, functional and design specifications, and qualification reports.
• Interface with technical leads, project managers, and customers to coordinate assigned work scope.
• Occasionally travel to customer and manufacturing vendor sites to provide on-site support, deliver presentations, and resolve issues.
• Support occasional travel to nuclear plants.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• Ability to understand and interpret design documents, including drawings and calculation summaries.
• Capability for conceptual design and development of design drawings.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $58,400 to $73,000 per year, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
