Engineer I

Job Description:The Engineer position requires 1-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree. Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems. Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications. Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.Job responsibilities include:creating a safe work environment by putting safety firstunderstanding the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenanceunderstanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenanceunderstanding design practices and work processesusing all software applications used in designsupporting design standard and criteria development for the systemsupporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operationsestimating material for projectstransmitting construction packages and supporting specificationsSkillsets and expertise required for this position includeintroductory engineering knowledgebasic problem-solving skillslimited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisorbasic discipline software knowledgestrong work ethicpositive attitudethe ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.Required Experience:Minimum 2 years of required CAD ExperienceRequired experience with site walk downsMarking up and updating mechanical drawings (P&IDs) EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
