Engineer I

Job Summary

The Engineer I assists with the maintenance and operation of all mechanical equipment, appliances, building-related systems, and routine general maintenance. This position works closely with other Engineers under the supervision of the Lead Engineer/Chief Engineer.

Minimum Qualifications Required

• Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; and One to three years of progressively responsible related experience in a commercial property, tenant management setting; or Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform scheduled maintenance and building repairs, including equipment testing, and preventative maintenance.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance calls, including plumbing emergencies, minor equipment malfunctions, HVAC calls, electrical and lighting repairs, and minor structural repairs (ceiling, floor, door, etc).
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of fire/life safety systems for the property.
• Perform regularly scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks to ensure all building equipment is functioning properly.
• Respond to emergency calls after hours as directed.
• Promote and maintain safe work practices focusing on overall safety.
• Work with tenants to understand their needs in order to build and maintain positive, productive and professional relations.
