About the role
The Courtyard Orlando Lake Buena Vista is part of a complex of four Marriott Properties in the Lake Buena Vista area. Located centrally between Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, the hotel is part of HEI, which values its associates and invests in their development.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all building related systems and the building envelope to ensure safety.
- Ensure compliance with engineering assumptions, preventative maintenance programs, and procedures, as well as company culture, mission, vision, and values, and all applicable codes.
- Maintain the building complex to be energy efficient, continuously seeking ways to reduce energy consumption.
- Aid in preventative maintenance tasks, including reporting and completing work orders for tasks like replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and patching vinyl.
- Perform routine checks and minor repairs on electrical systems, such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and replacements.
- Assist in major repairs of hotel equipment, including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools, and plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Service the hotel's pool, adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters, and completing maintenance request forms and record logs.
- Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal, including tasks like snow removal, lawn care, painting, and gardening.
- Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms, such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters, and paint and finish furniture and fixtures if needed.
- Move furniture and fixtures throughout the building.
- Respond courteously to guest inquiries, complaints, and requests to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Operate heavy machinery safely.
- Adhere to attendance rules and availability requirements.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Vocational schooling, military training, certification, or experience in building-related trades in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Carpentry, preferably in the hotel industry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences.
