The Pfister Hotel, built in 1893 and a AAA Four Diamond hotel for over 50 consecutive years, is seeking an Engineer to maintain our iconic property and support the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of our guests and associates.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize hotel building systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair facility and equipment issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring guest comfort through timely and effective solutions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on building systems, equipment, and hotel assets to maintain operational excellence and extend equipment life.
  • Respond promptly to guest and associate maintenance requests, delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including OSHA requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and proper refrigerant handling practices.

Requirements

  • EPA Section 608 (CFC) Certification required for refrigerant handling and HVAC/refrigeration system maintenance.
  • 3+ years of engineering, maintenance, or facilities experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, commercial building, or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems with proven troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Ability to work independently, diagnose complex maintenance issues, determine corrective action, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, safety procedures, and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, associates, contractors, and vendors.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency response situations as needed.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with a flexible schedule to support a 24/7 operation.
