Responsibilities
- Support test, tooling, and design engineers in the design and CAD activities of test equipment in accordance with Blue Origin and established industry standards
- Create and modify 3D models and drawings of test equipment, fixtures, GSE, tooling, and facilities
- Create and modify test configuration assemblies and develop associated BOMs and drawings
- Create Interface Control Models and Interface Control Drawings
- Create/split conceptual structural models into components, joints, and assemblies
- Incorporate drafting standards and standard drawing notes based on company, program, and industry standards
- Perform model and drawing check activities during release reviews
- Assist in the development of requirements, statements of work, and technical oversight of GSE vendors
- Provide technical recommendations on tooling and equipment design
- Maintain and report on activity schedule and technical status as needed
- Support test engineers in test planning and address questions pertaining to the test setup and load applications for all test load cases from a fixturing perspective
Requirements
- Experience applying GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards in drawings, ensuring manufacturing and inspection requirements are met
- Familiarity with Windchill or similar configuration management software
- Experience working within a configuration management / engineering change (CN) release process, including taking a design from model creation through formal release
- Development of designs or documentation for umbilical systems, ground support equipment, test fixtures, launch pad structures, or lifting/handling tooling is preferred
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering
- Experience in CAD design and 3D modeling
- Knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Experience with Windchill or similar configuration management software
- Experience in a configuration management / engineering change (CN) release process
- Experience with umbilical systems, ground support equipment, test fixtures, launch pad structures, or lifting/handling tooling
