Engineer- Fleet Management

About the Role

This position is part of the Onshore Wind fleet management organization. The role involves resolving technical customer issues and ensuring the delivery of customer objectives such as wind turbine availability and production. Responsibilities include enhancing services technology by integrating customer data, reliability, availability, maintenance, safety, and other performance parameters.

Responsibilities

• Support the installed fleet through customer issue resolution, fleet-wide issue management, service bulletin implementation, monitoring and diagnostics, and fleet configuration.
• Maintain fleet data, manage outages, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of fleet information.
• Provide technical engineering solutions, repairs, and escalation for issues escalated from the Services team.
• Apply a basic understanding of key business drivers to accomplish tasks.
• Understand how team contributions integrate with other business functions to achieve collective goals.
• Make independent decisions within defined technical boundaries, with potential for greater autonomy as experience is gained.
• Resolve issues requiring good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
• Consult with senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions or parameters.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Manage customer relationships by serving as the central point of contact for technical inquiries, ensuring complex information is communicated clearly and professionally.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college, OR a High School diploma/GED with at least 2 years of experience in the Wind Turbine Industry.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
• Experience with mechanical subsystems (e.g., gearbox, main bearing, pitch bearing, bolted joints, yaw system) of a wind turbine.
• Willing and able to climb and work at heights as needed (5-10% of the time).
• Ability to present technical data in a succinct and clear manner.
• Technical versatility and experience with wind turbine production and performance.
• Ability to learn technology outside of one's specialty.
• Strong project management skills.

Pay

For candidates applying to a U.S.-based position, the pay range is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. Bonus eligibility includes a discretionary annual bonus.
