ENGINEER ELECTROMECHANICAL 3

About the role

Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Supports improvements to the processes used for determining and tracking obsolete material
• Determines prioritization of replacement efforts
• Researches information needed to support engineering material reviews
• Provides technical review of resolutions for obsolete material
• Supports development of technical documents for ordering requirements for applicable resolutions
• Reviews technical responses to Navy supply system Liaison Action Requests (LARs) concerning material obsolescence
• Provides oversight and guidance to engineers, designers, and logistics support personnel who are performing work to determine resolutions for material shortages

Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Must have 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
• Nice to have experience with CVN68 Class Propulsion and Reactor plant components
• Nice to have familiarity with Navy supply system (NSNs, APLs)
• Nice to have understanding of Navy supply system ordering requirements, material specifications, manuals and qualification requirements for CVN68 Class Propulsion and Reactor Plant replacement components
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to discuss technical issues with technical and non-technical department personnel and suppliers are a must
