About the role

Responsibilities

Audit and maintain electrical equipment specifications, design and construction standards.
Assist in stewardship for electrical operating/maintenance procedures, commissioning equipment checks and testing requirements.
Research and/or assist with technical interpretations and guidance regarding standards and codes for Enbridge operations, project groups and other partners.
Find opportunities and participate in technical analysis and implementation of new technologies.
Audit and support power protection support and coordination/arc flash studies.
Audit and provide technical knowledge to drive department initiatives and department development items.
Audit and provide technical direction associated with asset health and reliability, asset condition-based maintenance and fleet management.
Audit and provide technical support for regional engineers, technical supervisors, contract engineers, and specialists to develop solutions to equipment and process reliability issues.
Audit and provide technical review for failure analyses and incident investigations.
Audit and support technical design reviews.
Audit and provide engineering expertise and participate in designs to project managers on capital projects or programs within the region supported.
Audit and provide technical review and sign off of electrical test results.
Audit and provide power protective relay commissioning support.

Qualifications

Have 2+ years of progressive experience in an electrical engineering role.
Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Lead efforts to solve complex technical problems and coordinate between departments and teams while also managing multiple assignments to meet established time constraints while managing collaborator expectations.
Be an excellent written and verbal communicator with effective report composition along with the ability to effectively interact with peers, internal partners, vendors and service providers.
Be knowledgeable with regulatory and industry codes/standards, including: NFPA 70, 70E, NESC, IEEE and other applicable standards.
Have a working level knowledge of the design and operation of liquids pipelines, pump stations, terminal facilities, pipeline hydraulics, and knowledge of related technologies such as mechanical, process control systems and instrumentation.

Skills
