Position Responsibilities
- Analyze competitive products
- Evaluate competitive products to compare different products/Materials/Components for potential new design or quality improvements of Daikin products
- Work within a team environment
- Follow the organization's matrix-driven focus points
- Ensure a safe working environment for all resources
- Continuous improvement in quality, throughput and operational efficiency is a requirement
- Develop and manage project schedules related to competitive evaluations required for new development/redesign of different product lines
- Aid in projects from inception to completion
- Conduct Material analysis for different types of materials from competitive products, including Steel, Plastic, Copper, Aluminum, etc...
- Focus on safety, on-time delivery, quality, and cost
- Follow a 5S driven organization
- Work within team continuous improvement goals and execute actions
- Evaluate products brought to market by competitive manufacturers
- Sustain and develop lines of communication with Design Engineering personnel, focusing on overall department improvement
- Develop and maintain a collaborative working environment with all teams to foster a culture of teamwork
- Analyze competitive product lines vs. current and future product lines
- Assist in redesigning different product lines offered within the company profile
- Document product designs by writing BOM’s (Bill of Materials), Material costs, Labor costs, Specifications, Product descriptions
- Drive continuous improvement projects related to product quality improvements
- Use of computer systems/software for data entry and internet research
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs

- Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level professionals

- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of mechanical design theory and practice

- Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job
Experience & Education
- 0 - 2 years of experience in mechanical product design required
- 1 plus years of experience within HVAC industry preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required (preferably within Science or Engineering disciplines)
- Business training is a plus
People Management
- No physical requirements/work environment
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
- Dynamic Lab environment with forklift traffic
- Must follow required PPE
- ISO-TC94 Reports To: Manager, Engineer
