Regular Full Time, Non-Exempt position covered by Local 30. On-site role with no work-from-home option.

About the Role

Engineers maintain, service, and repair boilers, HVAC, chilled water units, and other equipment systems in the Belmont Grandstand and barn area. They install new equipment for construction and renovation projects, ensure climate control of buildings, and perform compliance testing and record-keeping as required by Nassau County and New York State guidelines. Strict adherence to OSHA, New York State, and company safety regulations is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections to identify damaged equipment and make repairs.
  • Set up safety barriers and warning signs in work areas to protect guests, employees, and contractors.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, New York State and County, and company safety procedures.
  • Coordinate work and follow schedules; report maintenance concerns, hazards, and repair needs to management.
  • Assist with special projects related to engineering work.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and parts.
  • Keep work areas organized, clean, and free from safety hazards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of commercial equipment and safety procedures.
  • Ability to safely operate ladders and aerial lifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred Certifications

  • OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
  • Aerial Lift Certification.
  • Suspended Scaffold User Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.

Schedule

Full-time position requiring availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed. Overtime may be required based on operational and event demands.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Safety Requirements

  • Comply with all OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Use fall-protection equipment and PPE at all times when required.
  • Participate in safety training and certification programs.
  • Immediately report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or equipment defects.

Pay

$63.04 per hour.
