Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain broadcast systems and equipment, such as transmitters, receivers, and audio processing tools.
- Perform routine inspections and repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
- Monitor and analyze audio and signal quality to ensure compliance with FCC regulations and station standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve signal issues promptly.
- Plan and execute system upgrades to incorporate new technology and improve station capabilities.
- Integrate software and hardware components into existing systems.
- Provide on-call technical support during live broadcasts or emergencies.
- Aid production teams with technical requirements for shows and events.
- Maintain a list of equipment in use and available for deployment anywhere in the company if needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal and local broadcasting regulations.
- Work closely with programming and production teams to address their technical needs.
- Collaborate with other corporate engineers to help solve issues and develop solutions.
- Coordinate with external vendors for equipment purchases and installations.
- Lead or participate in projects such as new studio builds or transmission site installations.
- Ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
- Enforce safety standards and protocols in the workplace.
- Train staff on the use of technical equipment and software.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.
- Broadcasting and Radio IT/Engineer experience is not required but is a plus.
- A proven track record of leadership and driving success.
