About the role

Maintain all building-related systems and the building envelope to ensure the safety of hotel guests, associates, and vendors. Ensure compliance with company Engineering Assumptions/Culture, preventative maintenance programs, Standard Operating Procedures, and all Building/Fire/Health Department codes. Optimize building energy efficiency and identify opportunities for energy savings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders, such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain hotel standards.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance assignments (e.g., "room care").
  • Check and repair electrical systems, including air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems; make minor repairs or replacements.
  • Assist in routine and major repairs of hotel equipment, including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand/power tools, and plumbing systems (e.g., pipelines, toilets, sinks).
  • Service the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals, cleaning filters, completing maintenance request forms, and recording logs.
  • Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
  • Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms, such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters; paint and finish as needed.
  • Move furniture and fixtures throughout the building.
  • Respond courteously to guest questions, complaints, and requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
  • Operate heavy machinery and work in extreme temperatures.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Vocational schooling, military training, certification, and/or experience in building-related trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry).
  • Hotel experience preferred.
  • Ability to climb, read, stand, walk, and routinely lift 25–50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to receive instructions and communicate work progress.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style for different audiences (supervisors, coworkers, public, etc.).

Pay

Salary Range: $53.50 hourly (non-tipped, no discretionary performance bonus).
