Engineer

About the Role

Operates, maintains, and repairs the facility, its equipment, and systems in a safe, efficient operating condition in conformance with manufacturer's specifications, hospital policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Makes rounds of the mechanical spaces recording temperatures, pressures, operating status, miscellaneous readings, and checks for the proper operation of fans, pumps, motors, chillers, boilers, and other equipment.
• Operates, maintains, repairs, and cleans the operating plant, utility systems, and equipment, including troubleshooting problems and accessing equipment or systems in crawl spaces, ceiling spaces, and air plenums.
• Removes items such as plumbing fixtures, motors, and pumps, some weighing in excess of 60 lbs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Grade 4 steam license or 3 years of boiler plant experience.
• Current Washington State Driver's license and proof of insurability.
• Knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to safely operate manual and power hand tools, often in difficult positions.

Pay range: $41.12 - $53.71 per hour. Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications, or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education, and internal equity.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between EvergreenHealth and the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Local 286.
