Engineer

About the Role

This individual will lead various projects from start to finish while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing all hotel systems, including HVAC&R, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, water and wastewater systems, as well as carpentry, tile, plumbing, painting, and minor automotive repairs.

Duties include emergency on-call status.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of hotel fire, water, sewage, and irrigation systems.
• Respond to all guest requests in a timely manner.
• Respond to all emergency or life-threatening situations.
• Follow established safety procedures.
• Log and communicate all essential information in Engineering logs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience as an Engineer/Maintenance Technician, preferably in a hotel or property management environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school education desired.
• Ability to operate all hotel systems and associated equipment.
• Familiarity with vendors and ability to identify replacement parts, materials, and necessary tools.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions for mechanical equipment and furniture assembly, as well as warning labels.
• Strong communication skills in English with guests, co-workers, and management.
• Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
