About the role
This is a contract position for a Simulation and Data Engineer who will be responsible for:
- Checking and confirming body weld jigs, tools, pallets, parts and assemblies to meet quality targets/KPIs for new model launches.
- Preparing, troubleshooting, and confirming new tooling/equipment, parts and sub-assemblies at various tool/equipment vendors.
- Supporting weld and tool quality confirmation activities at NAMCs from installation through SOP.
- Creating detailed Quality Seibi daily plans, Project Task Reports, Problem Follow Sheets, tracking activity status, coordinating Safety communications (JSA, CMs/remedies to unsafe conditions, & safety audits), and supporting daily/weekly verbal and written communication with the Quality Seibi Project Leader, BAC, and Seibi Management.
- Providing effective written and verbal communication with Quality Seibi Team Members, BAC, Management, and outside groups regarding dimensional information and issues that require resolution.
- Gathering and managing part information from Digital Engineering systems and drawings.
- Analyzing part/sub-assembly dimensional data and providing feedback to Project Leader and Seibi Management.
- Performing equipment/tool/part confirmation using FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, check fixtures, weld tooling/equipment measurements, and part fitting activities.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:
- Mechanically inclined and very hands-on, making adjustments and changes to weld equipment and using various hand tools.
- Using computer skills such as MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and specialized software like POLYWORKS, FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, Hexagon, Delmia, Creaform, etc., to analyze part/sub-assembly dimensional data.
- Communicating effectively with Quality Seibi Team Members, BAC, Management, and external groups about dimensional information and issues requiring resolution.
- Supporting daily/weekly verbal and written communication with the Quality Seibi Project Leader, BAC, and Seibi Management.
Requirements
Qualifications include:
- A mechanically inclined and hands-on background, with experience in welding and tooling.
- Experience with FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, and other metrology tools.
- Knowledge of automotive, aerospace, military defense industries.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Experience with digital engineering systems and drawing analysis.
