Engineer - Advanced Technology Innovation Pipeline
About the Role
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Advanced Technology Innovation Pipeline. In this position, you will perform leading research and technology development for naval nuclear reactors and associated equipment. This opportunity supports ongoing efforts at either the Bettis Site (PA) or Knolls Site (NY).
Responsibilities
- Evaluate nuclear technology opportunities and propose technology projects
- Lead the execution of technology development testing and vendor work
Requirements
Required combination of knowledge and skill:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, or science field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or
- Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or
- Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Nuclear Research and Development
- Advanced degree and/or experience in nuclear or related field
- Experience in supplier management
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to think creatively and proactively make recommendations to management
- Ability to work independently or in a group setting

Pay
Pay Range: $95,700.00 - $149,600.00 annually. Salary is based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
All candidates must be U.S. citizens. Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter.
