About the Role

M.C. Dean is seeking an Engineer 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit, you will design, engineer, integrate, operate, and maintain electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audiovisual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide system programming and management support for large-scale networking infrastructures, including administration and maintenance of high-performance computer configurations, systems, and peripherals.
  • Participate in system integration projects, performance analyses, problem resolution, and security initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to develop system management tools and support a comprehensive infrastructure for commercial, corporate, and governmental users.
  • Maintain system documentation and generate weekly/monthly summary status reports.
  • Dedicate 4–6 hours per week to staying current on industry trends and available products/services.
  • Perform staging and setup for project support and self-instruction.
  • Work closely with Systems Engineers to install and configure networks based on an Installation Design Package (IDP) to meet customer needs.
  • Research equipment from multiple manufacturers to resolve technical issues during installation and testing.
  • Collaborate with the Design Department to identify and correct design problems during the design cycle.
  • Suggest process improvements and cost-saving measures for the Implementation Department.
  • Provide systems support for large-scale, high-performance computing centers, including installation and management of computer systems, workstations, operating systems, peripherals, and interfaces.
  • Monitor system usage and evaluate performance against defined goals with senior staff.
  • Design automation systems and provide a list of quantities and types of materials used.
  • Create user guideline documentation and manuals for custom programs and applications.
  • Work within a lab environment to learn various IT and Electronic Security Systems (ESS).

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a SECRET clearance is mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, with a focus on SE services for physical security systems and IT solutions.
  • Must obtain a Security+ certification within 6 months of hire.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
