Communications Technician 3 - Charleston, SC (Hiring Event)

Responsibilities

• Install, plan, organize, and schedule communications cabling and equipment.
• Assign tasks, ensure work is installed in a high-quality manner, and conduct quality inspections.
• Oversee a crew of five or more technicians and apprentices.
• Monitor task completion, compliance, and prevent safety issues.
• Survey and document existing telecommunications infrastructure.
• Participate in design document reviews and activities.
• Install fiber uplinks and calculate grounding conductor and conduit sizing.
• Prepare 4-week look-ahead plans and track productivity.
• Train and supervise apprentices in a team environment.
• Maintain clean work areas and participate in job site clean-up.
• Secure company tools and materials daily.
• Up to 25% travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• 6+ years prior experience in commercial communications industry.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Excellent safety record.
• Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite.
• Pass basic telecommunication knowledge test.
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks.
• Good vision, ability to see in color, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
