We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile technical Engagement Manager (EM) to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects for AWS customers. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with strong project leadership to drive successful implementations of AWS-based solutions, bridging business requirements with technical solutions and ensuring alignment with customer outcomes.
About the role
The AWS Professional Services (ProServe) team helps customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. As part of this global team of experts, you will work with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives, delivering focused guidance through specialty practices covering various solutions, technologies, and industries.
You will apply AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework, demonstrate technical credibility across diverse stakeholders, distill customer needs into clear technical requirements, and decompose complex problems into actionable solutions. As you progress, you’ll lead increasingly complex technical projects, shape cross-organizational technical strategies, and establish best practices in your domain.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex cloud migration and implementation projects
- Leverage comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and best practices to guide technical decisions and strategic planning
- Bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitating engineering discussions and ensuring alignment with customer business outcomes
- Distill customer needs into clear technical requirements and map them to business outcomes
- Decompose complex technical problems into actionable, deliverable solutions
- Make informed trade-off decisions considering performance, scalability, security, and business impact
- Validate technical solutions against business goals and manage technical risks
- Contribute to technical documentation and define documentation standards
- Achieve and maintain relevant AWS certifications and develop domain-specific expertise
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
Requirements
- 3+ years of program or engagement management experience leading other project managers to deliver a program with multiple and concurrent projects
- 3+ years of cloud computing experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Experience working as a Scrum Master or Product Owner across multiple cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2)
- AWS certification
- Knowledge of the value proposition of the public cloud and cloud engagement delivery (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of business across organizations
- Experience applying AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework

Pay
- USA, CA, San Francisco: $151,000.00 - $204,200.00 USD annually
- USA, IL, Chicago: $131,200.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, MA, Boston: $131,200.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, NJ, Jersey City: $144,400.00 - $195,400.00 USD annually
- USA, NY, New York: $144,400.00 - $195,400.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Dallas: $131,200.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Arlington: $131,200.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
