About the Role

Ambit is looking for a strategic, execution-minded Engagement Lead to join our growing life sciences consulting team. In this role, you’ll take the lead on complex client engagements, focusing on high-impact commercial strategy work for biopharma and rare disease innovators. You’ll be responsible for turning client questions into actionable plans, leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality insights that drive key business decisions. What You’ll Do

  • Drive the success of client engagements through thoughtful project design, strategic oversight, and exceptional team leadership.
  • Structure and lead project plans across commercial strategy engagements (e.g. brand planning, opportunity assessments, launch readiness).
  • Design and manage research and analysis including primary research (HCP, patient, payer, internal stakeholders) and secondary research and analysis, as well as project milestones, workshops, etc.
  • Lead day-to-day client interactions, ensuring alignment, transparency, and trust throughout the engagement.
  • Guide and design the development of deliverables that clearly communicate insights and provide actionable recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
  • Work interactively with your project teams to share insights, incorporate feedback, and evolve analysis and deliverables.
  • Supervise consultants and analysts in research (primary, secondary, vendor management) and in the development of well-designed PowerPoint slides that tell a clear and compelling story.
  • Create a collaborative environment that fosters continuous feedback, knowledge sharing, and development for junior team members.
  • Partner with Principals and Directors to support proposal development, pitch preparation, and project scoping.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience at a management or life sciences consulting firm, with a strong focus on commercial strategy for biopharma clients.
  • Proven success managing end-to-end consulting engagements, including team leadership and client relationship management.
  • Experience working in rare disease or specialty therapeutics is highly valued.
  • MBA, PhD, or BS in business, life sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling, executive-ready deliverables.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Ability to work in-person at our NYC office at least 3 days per week.
  • Availability to start within 2–4 weeks of accepting an offer.

Pay

The base salary range for this role is $170,000-$220,000.
