About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated person to join our team as a Scholar Engagement Coach/Case Manager. In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to scholars and their families, ensuring their academic success and overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular home visits to establish strong relationships with scholars and their families, assess their needs, provide guidance, and offer support.
- Identify and connect scholars and their families to relevant community resources and services (e.g., healthcare, counseling, housing, financial aid).
- Maintain accurate attendance records, track scholar attendance patterns, and address attendance issues promptly.
- Guide and support scholars in understanding and meeting school expectations, including academic performance, behavior, and adherence to school policies.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to coordinate testing accommodations for scholars with special needs and provide behavioral support.
- Prepare attendance letters and file truancy reports in accordance with school policies, keeping accurate documentation.
- Assist in developing and implementing engaging activities for scholars, both on and off campus, to promote social interaction, personal growth, and academic enrichment.
- Collaborate with the recruitment team to plan and execute summer enrollment activities, including door-to-door canvassing and weekend events.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with scholars and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish trusting relationships.
- Knowledge of community resources and services available to support scholars.
- Familiarity with attendance tracking systems and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Results-driven and flexible, with the ability to pivot as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends and late days.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt strategies to meet unique needs.
