About the role

The Oswego County Department of Solid Waste is seeking a part-time Enforcement Officer to perform inspection, investigation, and enforcement activities necessary to ensure compliance with the Oswego County Recycling and Solid Waste Local Law.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of solid waste facilities, including transfer stations and recycling centers, as well as construction and demolition sites.
  • Inspect businesses engaged in the collection, transportation, processing, or disposal of refuse to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience in law enforcement, the enforcement of codes or ordinances, or investigative experience related to receiving complaints, gathering evidence and making recommendations regarding the disposition of the complaint.
  • Candidate must have transportation available to perform the duties of the position.

Pay

Pay Rate: $25.28 per hour.
