Energy Trader

Primary Responsibilities

• Operating grey and black box algorithmic trading strategies in accordance with the trading desk's objectives
• Maintaining oversight of trading activity and positions throughout the shift
• Conducting research and post-trade analysis to enhance profitability of existing models
• Solving trade break, position, and activity reconciliation issues with the back office
• Generating end-of-day PnL and position reports
• Communicating with exchanges, risk managers, and internal technology groups about production issues
• Collaborating with strategy developers to implement code changes related to execution, pricing, and risk management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, business/finance, or related field
• 4-6 years' work experience trading financial products (e.g. options, futures)
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and mathematical skills
• Preferred experience with Python
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Demonstrated strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset

Skills and Experience

• Trading experience in financial products such as options and futures
• Proficiency in Python (preferred)
• Independent problem-solving and multitasking capabilities
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Strong work ethic and team player attitude
