Energy Modeling Consultant
Resource Innovations is seeking an Energy Modeling Consultant to support our Inflation Reduction Act Program field delivery in Arizona. As an early key hire, you will deliver high-quality energy assessments and ensure quality energy modeling for our HOMES and HEEHR programs, focusing on income-based participants and contractor collaboration.
About the role
This hybrid field and remote position serves as the liaison between the Energy Auditor field team and the energy modeling software platform. You will review project inputs, calibrate modeling software, finalize equipment selections with customers, and oversee residential weatherization, HVAC, and water heating installation inspections. The role involves reviewing QA/QC findings to ensure program integrity and shaping energy audit services for community efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Review data collected from in-home energy audits for quality assurance and refine project inputs and recommendations.
- Calibrate energy modeling software to meet BPI requirements.
- Finalize selected equipment with customers, generate work orders, and collect customer signatures.
- Ensure completion of all necessary forms and materials.
- Conduct onsite assessments or field inspections; review/write inspection reports and provide solutions for failed inspections.
- Develop and implement energy audit protocols, QA/QC requirements, and implementation plans.
- Review program QC findings, reports, and remedy inaccuracies.
- Leverage best practices and continuous improvement plans to implement long-term solutions in partnership with clients and Program Managers.
- Generate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports to audit, monitor, and measure performance and relevant metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including program operations, IT, Marketing, and Customer Service/Processing.
- Perform other business operations-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to South, Central, or North Arizona within 30 days of acceptance.
- Must obtain a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for local travel (25-75% of the time).
- 2+ years’ experience in quality control and quality assurance, consulting, energy efficiency, or utility experience highly desired.
- Knowledge of building science, construction, and technical expertise is required.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (limited overnight travel).
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Experience with SnuggPro is a plus.
Qualifications
- BPI Building Analyst and Envelope certifications preferred; candidates must be willing to obtain these within a specified timeframe.
- Home Energy Score certification preferred.
- HERS and RESNET Rater certification preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities.
- Sound business ethics, including protection of proprietary and confidential information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
- Customer service focus and ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions.

Pay
Competitive base salary range of $70,000–$80,000, with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and location.
