About the role

We are seeking a team-player to join our Modeling team at the Houston, TX office as an Energy Modeling Analyst for IECC and Title 24. This is a full-time position (8AM-5PM, M-F). Reporting to the energy modeling manager, the analyst will perform energy modeling analysis for residential structures using whole building analysis programs such as REMRate, Ekotrope, and EnergyPro.

Responsibilities

  • Examine residential building plans
  • Perform take-offs of the building envelope
  • Input data and model in REMRate/Ekotrope (IECC)
  • Input data and model in EnergyPro (Title 24)
  • Collect data and build models using drawings prepared by the project Architect and Engineer
  • Perform simulations and write reports communicating energy analysis findings
  • Report design recommendations for improved energy performance

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of relatable experience
  • An understanding of residential construction and architectural plans
  • Experience with EnergyPro, Ekotrope, and REMRate is not required; training will be provided

Skills

  • Understands current energy codes and programs
  • Ability to read and understand residential architectural plans
  • Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans
  • Good math skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Eloquent and professional communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel, PDF programs, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Quick learner
  • Experience with web navigation and online research

Schedule
