Energy Marshal

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate inspection and testing documents are complete prior to energization of equipment and gear on project sites.
• Cook with QC department.
• Coordinate with Commissioning Manager to establish commissioning sequences and testing.
• Work with the site Lock Out/Tag Out program.
• Conduct Foreign Object and Debris (FOD) inspections before energization.
• Organize and lead pre-energization meetings and approve all energization steps.
• Review single-line drawings and confirm all switch positions before activation.
• Oversee temporary protective grounding/earthing removal and final inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
• NFPA 70e Certification.
• Experience with MV/HV systems and Electrical Testing and Verification.
• Data Center experience a plus.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician License (preferred but not required).
• Must be able to mentor and/or train other project staff, such as commissioning - project managers, Commissioning - assistant project managers(s) or other team members.
• Must be able to develop and maintain harmonious relationships with owners, co-workers, vendors, suppliers, and community.
