Energy Engineer NH (Hybrid Schedule)
About the role
This position assists and supports technical services to customers for electric and natural gas energy efficiency projects. It involves developing, promoting, and implementing energy efficiency programs to meet established goals.
Responsibilities
- Assists with services specific to the procurement and installation of energy efficient equipment and systems.
- Reviews applications for pertinent supporting documentation and researches customer energy efficiency and participation data.
- Prepares and maintains analysis spreadsheets.
- Manages vendors/contractors.
- Selects and manages contractors for C&LM (Conservation and Load Management) programs.
- Supports more senior Energy Engineers by collecting energy efficiency performance data and assisting with data analysis.
- Aids in inspections of customer facilities and performs energy analysis to determine electric and natural gas energy savings.
- Validates contractor services and participates in the analysis of high efficiency HVAC equipment, motors, controls, lighting systems, and other equipment.
- Supports the energy efficiency program team and program marketing activities.
- Supports the evaluation of new technologies and other research and development activities.
Requirements
Applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change. A current Engineer in Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or accredited Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Professional is preferred.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention-to-detail.
- Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Knowledge of building systems including HVAC equipment, air handlers, pumps, motors, and VFDs.
- Ability to review building plans showing HVAC, lighting, and control systems.
- Familiarity with local energy codes.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Baccalaureate degree in engineering required - (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
- Three (3) plus years of experience.
- Relevant experience and ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings.

Schedule
Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change based on managerial discretion and work performance.
