Energy Advice Worker
About the role
To provide information and advice on energy efficiency by telephone and in-person at the Search Advice Hubs and drop-in sessions at the Benwell office. Conduct Home Energy Assessments in clients' homes and promote the service through talks at outreach venues such as Community Centres and Sheltered Housing complexes.
Responsibilities include providing energy switching support, assessing homes for small energy measures, and coordinating with the Handy Man for installations. Additionally, identify issues like loneliness, social isolation, declining health, and safeguarding concerns, and refer clients to appropriate services to help manage life-changing events.
Responsibilities
- Provide energy advice via telephone and in-person at Advice Hubs and drop-in sessions.
- Conduct Home Energy Assessments in clients' homes.
- Promote the service through talks at outreach venues (e.g., Community Centres, Sheltered Housing).
- Offer energy switching support when beneficial for clients.
- Assess homes for small energy measures and liaise with the Handy Man for fitting.
- Identify issues such as loneliness, social isolation, declining health, and safeguarding concerns.
- Refer clients to relevant services to address identified issues.
Requirements
- 20 hours per week (part-time).
- Based in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear.
Pay
£26,962 pro rata for a 37-hour week (£13.96 per hour).
