Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking an Energetics Manufacturing Engineer Level 3 to join our Production Quality team in Magna, UT. The Energetics Manufacturing Engineer in Production Quality will work in an industrial environment, supporting the resolution of complex engineering problems. This role involves collaboration with design engineering, Factory Value Streams, Materials and Process experts, Process engineering, and Tool Design.

This position follows a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the design intent, failure modes, requirements, and specifications of the product, as well as manufacturing processes, process controls, statistics, SPC, and quality inspections.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines, and internal policies/procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison between Bacchus Mission Assurance and various organizations, including government agencies.
  • Work directly with operating entities to ensure inspections, statistical process control analyses, and audits are conducted to enforce requirements, meet specifications, and improve processing.
  • Document and process nonconformances via Material Review Board (MRB) protocol.
  • Perform First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
  • Conduct investigations using Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and other techniques.
  • Apply Dimensional Inspection Techniques and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI/AMSE Y14.5).
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position is contingent upon obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period as determined by the company.

Requirements

  • STEM Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience — OR — STEM Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience — OR — STEM PhD with 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 aerospace quality standards.
  • Experience with documenting and processing nonconformances via Material Review Board (MRB) protocol.
  • Experience or knowledge of performing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
  • Experience conducting investigations using Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and other techniques.
  • Experience with Dimensional Inspection Techniques and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI/AMSE Y14.5).
  • Mechanical design and tooling experience.
  • Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools such as NX, Solidworks, ProE, or similar.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with operators, process engineering, suppliers, and design engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with solid rocket motor manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated customer coordination experience.

Pay

Primary level salary range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00. The salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when determining base salary offers.

Schedule

This position follows a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
