Safety, Quality, and Operations
Safety, quality, and operational excellence are paramount. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the mill operates continuously by managing the off-loading and part inspection of products, placing them in the correct racks, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Maintain a 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) approach to keep the work area clean and organized.
- Support changeover processes and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives within your area.
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department supervisor.
- Conduct visual quality checks for straightness, galvanizing integrity, and length to meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to resolve issues promptly.
- Promote mill production efficiency, problem resolution, and cost-saving opportunities.
Skills and Experience Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience using special measuring devices such as calipers and tape measures.
- Must be able to read and interpret part drawings for product inspections.
- Roll tooling experience, including setup and changeover.
- Demonstrated ability to meet negotiated timeframes.
- Forklift certification.
- Good communication skills to facilitate smooth operations and continuous flow within the mill.
- Ability to adapt to schedule changes and respond effectively to conditions on the mill.
- Willingness to contribute to continuous improvement activities.
