Endpoint Support Specialist I
Overview
Consider joining the Pennex family as an Endpoint Support Specialist – Level I at our Leetonia, OH location. The purpose of this role is to support our manufacturing operations by providing hands-on technical assistance to plant employees.
Responsibilities
- Provide frontline IT support on the plant floor, ensuring end-users receive timely assistance.
- Support and maintain handheld scanners, mobile carts, and other endpoint devices critical to operations.
- Manage battery replacements and troubleshoot hardware-related issues.
- Aid with tasks related to the ERP project, including user support and system troubleshooting.
- Work closely with manufacturing employees to ensure they understand and can effectively use IT tools.
- Walk extensively throughout the plant, potentially reaching 10,000 steps per shift while providing on-site support.
- Document and track IT issues, resolutions, and trends to improve future support efforts.
- Cook up with IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Maintain and update IT hardware inventory as needed.
- Travel between Greenville, PA and Leetonia, OH locations (10%).
- Work on projects as assigned by supervisor.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- A certification in ITIL Foundation and MSFT MCSE or similar is preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in IT support is required.
- Three or more years of combined education and experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and ability to assist with ERP-related tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users and provide patient, hands-on support.
- Physical ability to walk extensively and perform hands-on technical work in a manufacturing setting.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to travel between plant locations as required.
