About the role
The Endoscopy Technician serves as a member of the Ambulatory Surgery Center team, responding to patient needs, preparing/maintaining resources, and providing safe, quality health care services or assistance for non-surgical endoscopy procedures.
Responsibilities
- Cares for patients safely by assisting in clinical care services or engaging in administrative activities that enhance or improve coordination, preparation, and flow of the care experience.
- Knows, understands, and incorporates basic or essential area of practice (document, coordinate, communicate) and training standards.
- Uses clear, effective, respectful language and communication methods/means.
- Performs clinical care activities (direct or indirect) for patients within the scope of practice laws and training received.
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of Conduct, as well as other policies, procedures, and guidelines in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior and safe work practices.
- May serve as a resource (lead), role model, and/or mentor.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least two (2) years endoscopy or ambulatory surgery experience.
- Meets requirements for applicable state(s) of engagement.
Qualifications
- Nice to have: Associate degree in medical assisting or surgical technology; Endoscopy technician program certification; Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor certification.
