About the role

The Endoscopy Technician assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients to and from the endoscopy room. They participate in preparing the endoscopy room and contribute to the efficiency of the suites by communicating pertinent information to staff. The role involves maintaining knowledge of care, handling, and reprocessing of equipment and instrumentation, ensuring safety, comfort, and cleanliness, and participating in the planning and evaluation of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients to/from the endoscopy room.
  • Prepare the endoscopy room and communicate pertinent information to appropriate staff to ensure efficiency.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of care, handling, and reprocessing of equipment and instrumentation.
  • Provide and maintain safety, comfort, and cleanliness in the endoscopy suites.
  • Participate in planning and evaluation of patient care by communicating all relevant patient status information.
  • Obtain scope reprocessing certification within six months of hire.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of on-site Endoscopy Technician training program.
  • Ability to use critical thinking to carry out assignments/procedures independently, according to policies and procedures.
  • BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
  • Scope reprocessing certification required within six months of hire.

Pay

Salary Range: $18.47 - $28.61 USD per hour. Compensation is determined by factors such as job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. Additional pay may include clinical certification pay and shift differentials for eligible positions. The listed range reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
