Endoscopy Technician

Portsmouth Regional Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, offers an opportunity to join a mission-driven team as an Endoscopy Technician.

About the role

As an Endoscopy Technician, you’ll help provide safe, effective procedures for patients undergoing GI and endoscopy procedures. Your work preparing equipment and maintaining a clean, organized environment will support patient safety and empower caregivers to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and endoscopy equipment, verify equipment is in proper working order, and keep supplies organized and stocked.
• Help position and transport patients safely and comfortably using proper body mechanics.
• Support physicians and nurses during procedures by handling instruments, collecting specimens, and following proper safety practices.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopy equipment, and maintain accurate records for quality and safety.
• Communicate with kindness and compassion to patients and families, keeping them informed and supporting their privacy and comfort.

Requirements

• High School Graduate / GED required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Previous Endoscopy Technician experience preferred.
• Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for on-call response.

Schedule

Full Time Days, 32 hours per week, Monday-Friday with some on-call required.
