Endoscopy Technician

About the role

The Endoscopy Technician assists with endoscopy procedures and scope care and handling. They function as a member of the Endoscopy team, setting up and turning over assigned cases, maintaining a sterile field if required, and performing various tasks like equipment/instrument care, supply management, stocking, cleaning, and inventorying.

Responsibilities

• Set up and turn over assigned cases
• Maintain a sterile field, if required
• Perform a variety of tasks including care of equipment/instruments, supplies, and stock, clean, inventory, etc.
• Adhere strictly to OSHA, SNGA, and other regulatory standards and guidelines, safety, and infection control policies
• Additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent required
• Endoscopy or OR experience preferred
• Completion of a certified patient care technician/nursing assistant program, certified OR technician program, or acceptable on-the-job training program
• BLS required

Qualifications

• Completion of a certified technician program or acceptable on-the-job training program
• Possesses interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate appropriately, verbally or written

Skills

• Understanding of aseptic technique and sterilization
