Responsibilities

  • Aid physicians or registered nurses in conducting endoscopic procedures.
  • Collect specimens from patients using standard medical procedures.
  • Place monitoring devices on patients to track vital signs.
  • Clean, disinfect, or calibrate endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer and facility guidelines.
  • Prepare endoscopic suites or rooms according to procedure requirements.
  • Conduct safety checks to ensure proper equipment function.
  • Maintain and repair endoscopic equipment.
  • Manage inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies.
  • Provide in-service training on equipment and instruments.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of Endoscopy-specific experience.
  • High School Diploma and completion of GI Associate coursework every five (5) years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Effective communication, customer service, interpersonal skills, planning, organization, active listening, attention to detail, technology, and software skills, and direct patient care abilities.
