Responsibilities
- Aid physicians or registered nurses in conducting endoscopic procedures.
- Collect specimens from patients using standard medical procedures.
- Place monitoring devices on patients to track vital signs.
- Clean, disinfect, or calibrate endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer and facility guidelines.
- Prepare endoscopic suites or rooms according to procedure requirements.
- Conduct safety checks to ensure proper equipment function.
- Maintain and repair endoscopic equipment.
- Manage inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies.
- Provide in-service training on equipment and instruments.
Qualifications
- Two (2) years of Endoscopy-specific experience.
- High School Diploma and completion of GI Associate coursework every five (5) years.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Effective communication, customer service, interpersonal skills, planning, organization, active listening, attention to detail, technology, and software skills, and direct patient care abilities.
