Endoscopy Tech - Gastro Detroit - Full Time

About the Role

This position involves working in a procedural area, directly assisting GI Providers with Colonoscopy and EGD procedures. The Endo Tech will also work within the parameters of the scope cleaning process set forth by Infection Control and the Scope Manufacturers. A thorough orientation will be provided to ensure comfort and safety while working with patients and staff in a large, busy department that relies on teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of nursing care functions within all aspects of Endoscopy under the direct supervision of the provider, nursing leadership, and/or a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Implement appropriate actions to provide support and comfort to patients, observe the patient, and communicate pertinent data to the RN.
• Perform technical patient care services under the supervision of nursing leadership and an RN or Charge RN.
• Assist with scope and instrument reprocessing in accordance with Infection Control and manufacturer guidelines.

Requirements

• High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduation from an Accredited (CAAHEP/ABHES) Medical Assistant Program, Surgical Technician, or Emergency Medical Tech training is preferred.
• Familiarity with endoscopy equipment or scope/instrument reprocessing is preferred.
• Minimum of two years of healthcare exposure in a similar clinic setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.

Monday - Friday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Saturday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
