About the role

Corewell Health Endoscopy Center – Patterson, managed by Atlas Healthcare Partners, is a newly-built outpatient facility located at 910 60th Street SE in Grand Rapids, MI. The center is dedicated exclusively to outpatient endoscopic procedures and features five state-of-the-art endoscopy rooms designed for efficiency, safety, and patient comfort. This full-time position delivers high-quality care, clinical excellence, and exceptional service to the Grand Rapids community.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards.
• Accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under their direction.
• Utilizes specialized knowledge and judgment to assess data and plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
• Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
• Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family, ensures completion within the appropriate timeframe, and reviews diagnostics and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and other caregivers.
• Completes assessments and reassessments according to patient need and policy; formulates and revises a plan of care, including discharge planning, in collaboration with the patient, family, and health team.
• Initiates and implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.
• Promotes continuity of care by accurately communicating patient status to other caregivers.
• Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed; evaluates progress toward goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with the health care team.
• Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a legible, timely manner that reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions, and patient response to treatment.
• Provides care based on the best available evidence and may participate in research activities within clinical practice.
• Participates in department or facility shared leadership and contributes to the education, role development, and orientation of personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors.
• Promotes growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.
• Actively participates in improving national nursing quality indicators and outcomes, including activities within professional organizations.
• In some locations, may provide relief charge for staff and workflow management.
• Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
• Provides all customers with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating core and leader behaviors.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing, or higher.
• Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification required within 90 days of start date if assigned ASC services pediatrics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one year recent Endoscopy, PreOp/PACU, ED, or critical care licensed RN experience strongly preferred.

Physical Demands and Environment Factors

• Typical direct patient care environment requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and stretching.
• Physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.
• Adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision; fine motor skills and adequate eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair, or wheelchair.
• May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must use standard precautions due to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
• Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
• May require periodic use of computer, phone, and general office equipment.
