Registered Nurse (RN) Endoscopy

About the role

The Endoscopy Department at North Alabama Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position requires some endoscopy experience and is part of a broader mission to improve community health.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient condition, collaborating with the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Affords assistance with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Nursing License.
• Some endoscopy experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• PALS and Handle with Care certifications are preferred and must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Schedule

Full-time day shift with rotating call requirements.
