About the role

Join an established group of 3 physicians, 2 diabetes advanced practice clinicians, and 3 diabetes nurse specialists. Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region in Central New York. Become part of a progressive academic health system and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient endocrinology clinic care with shared in-patient call responsibilities.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with endocrinopathies, including disorders of the pituitary, parathyroid, thyroid, adrenals, pancreas, metabolism, and bone disease.
  • Provide appropriate follow-up care of patients both in-clinic and remotely.
  • Collaborate with other specialties (such as endocrine surgery, nuclear medicine, nephrology, cardiology, neurosurgery, interventional radiology) in the care of patients with endocrinopathies.
  • Supervise and teach medical residents and students in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Participate in supported clinical research and quality improvement work.
  • Actively engage in division meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education (CME) activities such as Medicine Grand Rounds.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or MBBS degree.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Endocrinology.
  • Completion of an accredited USA Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship.
  • New York State Licensure (or eligibility to obtain).
  • BLS Certification.
  • DEA Certification.
