Responsibilities
- Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures
- Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order
- Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy
- Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse
- Performs clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy
- Assembles and maintains patient chart material, maintains records and files, maintains order and cleanliness of the workstation
- Completes charges for patients
Qualifications
Education: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required. Graduate of GI/OR Technology program Preferred. Graduate of CNA/MA program Preferred.
Work Experience: No experience required. Previous experience as Unit Secretary or as CNA/MA Preferred. Previous experience in Endoscopy Preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: BCLS - Basic Life Support Current AHA BLS Certification Upon Hire Required.
