END Technologist Reg -Neuro Testing East

About the role

The END technologist plays an essential role in the diagnosis of brain diseases (such as epilepsy or stroke), injury and tumors under supervision from a Neurologist. The END technologist performs diagnostic tests using an instrument that records brain waves. They attach electrodes to specific areas of the patient's head to measure differences in the amplitude and frequency of electrical potentials between various parts of the brain.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests using an instrument that records brain waves.
• Attach electrodes to specific areas of the patient’s head to measure brain wave activity.
• Work independently without close supervision.
• Demonstrate competence performing neuro-diagnostic procedures.
• Act in good judgment in decision-making responsibilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited END program preferred.
• Registered or certified in Neuro-Diagnostic Testing, or eligible per ABRET (Neuro-diagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation) END Exam.
• Completion of recording, ASET CEUs, and documented EEGs prior to start date, required.
• Must be Certified Registered EEG T. within one year of obtaining role, required.
• Demonstrate competence performing neuro-diagnostic procedures.
• Ability to work with patients of all ages, ranging from neonates to elderly adults.
• Basic knowledge of computers useful.

Qualifications
