EMT Paramedic - Atlanta

Paramedics respond to medical and traumatic emergencies, providing basic and advanced life support procedures and transportation to the most appropriate facility. They also provide support services for interfacility transfers and assist other company departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical and traumatic emergencies, as well as interfacility transfers from hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes.
• Provide emergency medical care at the scene, en route to the hospital, and during transportation between facilities.
• Deliver patients to the nearest, most appropriate medical facility while adhering to company, local, regional, and state guidelines.
• Perform basic and advanced life support procedures based on certification level.
• Demonstrate professionalism and leadership in all interactions.
• Ensure compliance with TMHC Team Mobile Health Care policies and procedures.
• Improve operations, streamline work processes, and collaborate to provide quality customer care.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment readiness at the start of each shift and after every call.
• Respond to emergencies and non-emergencies safely, following Georgia law, EMS regulations, and company policy.
• Adhere to Universal Precautions and Infection Control policies when dealing with patients.
• Act as a team leader in emergency and non-emergency situations, directing and supervising other team members.
• Render high-quality emergency and non-emergency care in accordance with TMHC and Georgia state standards.
• Perform Advanced Life Support procedures under the direction of the Medical Control Physician.
• Maintain professional relationships with external staff and services.
• Prioritize patient care and act in the best interests of the patient and the organization.
• Provide comprehensive patient reports to receiving facility staff.
• Complete all required documentation, including Patient Care Records, for every patient contact.
• Participate in public relations and community education programs sponsored by TMHC.
• Attend continuing education courses and maintain certifications (e.g., CPR, EMT/Paramedic, PALS, ACLS).
• Provide Patriot Ambulance with current certifications (e.g., EMT/Paramedic, CPR, Driver’s License).
• Report to assigned shifts on time, in proper uniform, and remain on duty until properly relieved.
• Accommodate and train third riders for orientation or educational purposes, completing documentation as needed.
• Consult with supervisors on non-routine matters.
• Complete day-to-day assignments such as cleaning, laundry, and trash removal.
• Perform any other assigned tasks or duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 25 years old.
• Strong multi-tasking and time management abilities.
• Currently certified as a Paramedic by the State of Georgia Department of Public Health Office of Emergency Medical Services.
• Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support) by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Safety and Health Institute.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider certification.
• Current and active Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
• Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, using good judgment and common sense.
• Ability to interact professionally with employees, partners, public safety personnel, medical staff, and others.
• Ability to provide high-quality patient care and act as a team leader in patient care situations.
• Ability to lift and maneuver 150 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to walk up and down stairs and carry 150 pounds up and down two flights of stairs with assistance.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
• Ability to walk a quarter-mile without difficulty and without affecting job performance.

Schedule

• Full-time, part-time, or per diem hours available.
• Works under the general direction of the daily supervisor.

Pay

Competitive night and weekend pay.
