Responsibilities

• Directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in patients' clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies.

Requirements

• Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Kansas.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• PALS and/or ENPC required within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a paramedic in an EMS or acute care hospital preferred.
• NRP certification required within 30 days of hire and maintain current (for non-OB facilities).
