EMT or Paramedic (PRN)
Medcor is seeking a PRN (as-needed) EMT or Paramedic to serve as an Onsite Health Technician in our employer-based, occupational health clinic in Topeka, KS. This position supports clinic operations during daytime, evening, and weekend hours, with a schedule that varies based on staffing and business needs. There are no guaranteed hours.
About the role
The Onsite Health Technician will collaborate with medical and operational leadership at Medcor, local medical providers, client staff, and key corporate contacts. Responsibilities include patient care, workers’ compensation case management, Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation, and treatment plan monitoring, working closely with outside medical providers.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on-site clinic
- Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s clients and employees
- Assess and treat workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols (Medcor Care Protocols - MCPs)
- Build and maintain internal team relationships
- Support onsite employee health and wellness efforts
- Conduct pre-employment and post-offer screenings
- Document care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
- Perform case management and medical charting
Requirements
- Valid licensure for the position (EMT or Paramedic)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong computer and technology skills (e.g., cell phones, texting, fax machines, EMR software)
- Ability to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive, outgoing personality
- Passion for patient care and advocacy
- Willingness to go above and beyond
Preferred Qualifications
- Comfortable working in a worksite clinic environment
- Relevant occupational health experience
- Experience in emergency medicine or critical care
