Position Responsibilities
- Assigned to posts in the hotel, casino resort and outside environments to deter and prevent illegal or terroristic activities, hazards, company and regulatory violations.
- Affords assistance to guests with illnesses, injuries, and provides information.
- Issues temporary access badges.
- Maintains rules and regulations by monitoring employee activities throughout the hotel/casino complex.
- May include observation from a location on the exterior of the building and reporting to security dispatch, via radio or telephone, any suspicious vehicles, smoke, etc.
- Responds to all disturbances with the intent to defuse the incident beginning with a calming verbal exchange but must be prepared to become involved in a physical confrontation when necessary.
- Responsible for the movement and protection of company funds throughout the premises, including but not limited to lifting and pulling of carts.
- Documents detailed reports of all incidents relating to the property, guests and employees as directed.
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to second hand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment.
- Talks on and hears a two-way radio and telephone.
- Has visual acuity correctable to 20/20, normal color, peripheral and night vision.
- Can stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the Casino/Hotel areas.
- Can work under adverse conditions, including overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays and testify in court on and off duty.
- Can handle all types of guest related situations.
- Has basic arithmetic skills which include adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying.
- Can investigate incidents and complete written reports as instructed.
- Required to have a valid New Jersey driver's license.
- Required to hold EMT certification.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous casino security or law enforcement experience is desired.
- The ability to effectively communicate in English is required.
- Must be able to handle all types of guest related situations.
- Must be able to investigate incidents and complete written reports as instructed.
- A valid New Jersey driver's license is required.
- An EMT certification is required.
